We are looking for a Kubernetes Engineer to join our team in the Netherlands. You will play a crucial role in developing solutions for enterprises in an open source environment. You are the ideal candidate if you enjoy orchestrating cutting-edge solutions, revolutionizing infrastructure, guiding customers through the intricacies of container orchestration, and optimizing their infrastructure for peak performance.
Your tasks
As part of your role, you will contribute significantly to the financial health and strategic operations of Fairbanks. Your responsibilities encompass both day-to-day financial administration and high-level financial planning and advisory. You’ll work closely with the management team to ensure accurate reporting, financial control, and compliance, while maintaining key stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Educate customers and internal teams on Kubernetes through hands-on training and vendor collaboration
- Provide Kubernetes support and guidance across development and operations teams
- Automate infrastructure using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Salt
- Create and maintain technical documentation and troubleshooting guides
- Diagnose and resolve system issues with cross-functional teams
- Enforce Kubernetes security best practices and mitigate vulnerabilities
- Streamline CI/CD pipelines using Helm, Jenkins, and GitLab CI
- Design and optimize scalable, reliable Kubernetes solutions
- Lead Kubernetes integration with existing systems
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you bring a combination of financial expertise, technical proficiency, and personal drive. You are proactive, detail-oriented, and able to operate independently while contributing to continuous improvement across the organization. You thrive in dynamic environments and have a strong affinity with IT services and modern financial tools.
What We’re Looking For:
- Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes clusters in production
- Skilled in writing architecture and design documentation
- Proficient with CI/CD tools like ArgoCD, Flux, and Gitflow
- Strong focus on Kubernetes security and compliance
- Solid Linux background and terminal fluency
- Experience with immutable OSes such as Talos, Flatcar, or CoreOS
- Networking knowledge, including CNIs like OVN, Cilium, and Calico
- Storage expertise with CSI drivers (e.g. Ceph, ROOK, S3)
- Familiarity with automation tools like Helm or Ansible
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Proven success in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities
- Fluent in English
